Education of West Virginia’s Youth: Turning Teens on to HPCC
Through her involvement with (SC)2, WVU faculty member Frances VanScoy has developed a workshop to turn teens on to high performance computing and communications through animation applications. Dr. VanScoy introduced high school children in southern West Virginia to the type of computing used by major movie studios. The workshop targeted teens from less privileged areas, opening them to a whole new world of possibilities.
